Cargo ship SILJA 2 was built in Czech shipyards. Under the EU-co-financed Transport Operational Programme, the vessel was completely reconstructed and modernised in 2015.
It received a new hull plating, a powerful auxiliary steering unit, and the cargo holds were fitted with lightweight aluminium stackable hatch covers that allow full hold opening.
